Built by [Shipyard Name, if available] under the supervision of the Indian Navy’s Warship Overseeing Team, the ACTCM Barge is designed to facilitate the safe transportation of critical naval ordnance—ranging from missiles and torpedoes to other forms of ammunition—between storage facilities and warships at anchorage.
The barge delivery is part of a series contract that aims to strengthen the Navy’s logistical capabilities, enhancing its efficiency in replenishment and resupply missions. The vessels are equipped with advanced handlingg and safety systems, ensuring secure transport of sensitive payloads in varying maritime conditions.
These Barges are proud flag bearers of “Make in India” and “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives of Government of India. Nine ACTCM Barges have already been delivered and the shipyard has also been awarded a contract for construction and delivery of four Sullage Barges to the Indian Navy thereby highlighting the Indian Navy’s commitment towards encouraging MSMEs.
